The competition ‘Cohesive Approaches for Tackling Violence against LBT Women in Georgia,aims to support initiatives relating to the empowerment and protection of the rights of lesbian, bisexual and transgender women (LBT).
Groups eligible to apply for a grant are: women's organizations, LGBT organizations, human rights' organizations, initiative groups and individuals working on women's and LGBT rights' issues. The geographic focus of the competition is Tbilisi, as well as other regions of Georgia. Priority will be given to activities conducted in the regions.
The competition is open for innovative women's initiatives, including: monitoring, advocating and lobbing for the creation of a violence-free environment for LBT women, improving policies and action plans regarding violence against LBT women, legislative initiatives, research, informational and educational activities; workshops, seminars, campaigns and art initiatives; and activities that aim to increase the visibility of lesbian, bisexual and transgender groups, empowering them and equipping them with tools for self-defense.
Grant amount: 3000 Euro (for each project)
The duration of the grant program is from 1 to 6 months.
Applicants are invited to attend orientation appointments for consultations and preliminary meetings twice a week from January 26 to February 21, 2015 (appointments will be arranged by telephone).
Interested groups may apply for a grant by submitting a proposal in Georgian. It is also possible to submit a proposal in Russian or English.
The deadline for submitting project proposals is March 9, 2015, 18:00. The results of the grants competition will be announced by March 20, 2015.
