The project 'Decreasing the Exclusion of Marginalised Groups of Georgian IDPs' aims to reduce the level of exclusion and to increase the mobilisation of citizens in three target communities of the population displaced following last year's conflict between Georgia and Russia. The project will be implemented by the 'People in Peril Association' (PIPA) in close collaboration with the local partner Womens Fund in Georgia (WFG) over 18 months in two rural communities (Tserovany, Shavshvebi) and one urban community (Gardabani). It will be focused on improving the economic opportunities of internally displaced people (IDPs), their civic participation, their social capital in their new environment, as well as living conditions in the new communities.
The project expects to achieve the following results:
Within the scope of the program, WFG awarded 11 individual and 3 group technical grants, amounting to a total of 5 253 EUR. The grants were awarded in the following IDP settlements – Tserovani, Shavshvebi and Gardabani – and aimed at supporting the development of small businesses.
