1. Applicant: Union of Social Workers

Project Title: "Promoting Access to Sexual and Reproductive Health Services for Homeless Children"

Region: City of Tbilisi

Project duration: 3 months

Requested amount of money: 29,200 GEL

The aim of the project is to increase the awareness and sensitivity of specialists working with homeless children in Georgia (psychologists, social workers, educators, peer educators, special educators) on sexual and reproductive health and rights; The project will make available in Georgian the textbook on sexual and reproductive rights of homeless children developed by the World Health Organization; It will also contribute to the development of a referral system between service-providing organizations for homeless children and organizations / services working in the field. The publication will be distributed to relevant institutions and organizations, as well as posted on the site swunion.ge.

2. Applicant: Georgian Cognitive Center

Project title: "Is a Woman a Person ?!"

Region: City of Batumi

Project duration: 10 months

Requested amount of money: 30 000 GEL

The aim of the project is to empower girls and women psychologically by providing the right information about their body and rights and developing skills. Provide psychological and legal assistance to girls and women victims of discrimination / violence or having other rights’ violations. The activities of the project are: 1. Education of girls and women on sexual and reproductive health and rights 2. Lending psychological and legal support for women victims of discrimination 3. Discovering cases of sexual and reproductive health and rights violations in municipalities through Adjara girls’ youth team and creating podcasts on this issue 4. Involving boys in debates, joint showing and discussion of films.

 

3. Applicant: Youth Development Center - XXI

Project Title: Connect-Ed: Teaching Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights in Non-Formal Education

Region: Sagarejo

Project duration: 10 months

Requested amount of money: 28 250 GEL

The aim of the project is to promote, on the one hand, teaching sexual and reproductive health and rights issues through non-formal education, taking into consideration contemporary global challenges, and, on the other hand, to contribute to strengthening of the skills of young female peer educators in this direction. The objectives of the project are: to examine sexual and reproductive health and rights issues in the context of modern challenges: personal data protection, the Covid-19 pandemic and new reality, preparing of a guidebook about these issues and empowering of possibilities of young workers, trainers and peer educators; Raising awareness of the mentioned topics among young people (including the use of virtual space); Advocating for sexual and reproductive health and rights issues in non-formal education and advocating of non-formal education in general, and the peer education methodology in particular.

 

4. Applicant: Mariani

Project Title: My Body Beyond Light - Increasing Access to Information on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights for Visually Impaired Girls and Women

Region: Tbilisi

Project duration: 4 months

Requested amount of money: 28 800 GEL

The aim of the project is to increase access to information on sexual and reproductive health and rights of blind and visually impaired girls and women living in Georgia. To achieve this goal, the project aims to: identify existing knowledge, attitudes, myths and information needs about sexual and reproductive health and rights in the community of blind and partially sighted girls and women; Creating accessible information materials on sexual and reproductive health and rights tailored to the needs of blind and partially sighted girls and women; Raise awareness and improve knowledge about sexual and reproductive health and rights for blind and partially sighted girls, their parents / caregivers and teachers.

 

5. Applicant: Identoba Yuth

Project Title: Reproductive Rights and Health of Rural Women in High Mountainous Adjara

Region: Batumi

Project duration: 10 months

Requested amount of money: 30 000 GEL

The aim of the project is to provide comprehensive and reliable information to women and girls living in highland Adjara about modern means of long-term and permanent contraception, family planning, pregnancy, its safe and legal termination methods, medical care standards and patients' rights; At the same time - drawing public attention to the problem at the level of politics, i.e. the scarcity of information in the education system regarding sexual and reproductive health and rights, and the negative consequences of malfunctions of health services. Accordingly, the project envisages holding a meeting with a gynecologist in 20 villages of highland Adjara on important issues of women's reproductive health.
